Can Be Obscure, Repetitious, and Dull. But Some MEAT is Valuable.

I wanted to like this book. I NEEDED to know what this man knows. But even after reading it, I don't feel any personal command of the information I received. And it's taken me more than 7 months to finish reading this. Allow me to elaborate:

On page 163, we find a typical example: "Then we optimized the landing pages with multivariate testing to determine the best organization of content for optimal conversion." Translation: Plain Vanilla SEO.

We move on through charts and charts and more charts of coupled keywords (i.e. "jewelry company," "jewelry repair," "jewelry cleaning," et. al.). Spreadsheets of analyzed Google Rankings.

Headings like this: What is a Blog? The Importance of Blogs. How To Set Up a Blog. Picking a Blogging Platform...

And this: Keyword Research for You Tube. Keyword Research for Twitter. What Is Twitter?

Shall I go on, or do you get the picture? Although there is some valuable information in this book about keywords and how to optimize your use of them on your site, you are going to have to really, really do some work to separate the wheat from the chaff.

My thinking is that the author might have set this up as a course workbook for a class he might be teaching. Because it is about as entertaining and engaging as a Statistics textbook.

In my opinion, this was just such an incredibly painful read, the only way I can recommend it is by using the index to find specific areas of interest and then forge ahead. Notice I DO give it 3 stars, not 2, because there is much of value here regarding in-depth keyword analysis.

I think the author just tried to do too much and got sidetracked from his main objective (Keyword Intelligence) so often that it pained me to think he didn't even remember his own stated goal/theme while he was writing this book.

If he were a military commander in WWII Burma, 7/8ths of his troops would be found wandering aimlessly through the jungle.

It's just a shame, because there are nuggets of wisdom buried within these pages. The question is: are you Man (or Woman) Enough to find them?

Well Written and Organized

I had some knowledge about the importance of keywords in searching, but this book took me to a new level of understanding how using keywords can optimize a website. This book can be very helpful to website designers and those who seek to learn more about marketing and usage of keywords. Very well written and organized, however, not too easy to follow for a non technical reader.

Key to the foundation of your marketing campaign

When you hear "keywords", SEO immediately comes to mind. This book is about the entire keyword ecosystem. While SEO is the goal, this book takes a 360 degree approach to making sure your message is consistent, marketable, and most important searchable. Unlike many books on the subject promising you some foolproof strategy to tricking Google into ranking you number 1, this book takes the slow and steady route to not just improving your search results, but your entire word of mouth campaigns.

The book starts with looking at how keywords are an integral part of marketing. Anyone who can quote a brand's slogan or jingle is using keywords and it's time your organization did the same (businesses and non-profits are covered in the book).

The bulk of the book then covers how to find the right keywords and how to use them in various on and offline marketing campaigns such as SEO, PPC, Social Media and Mobile as well as using keywords on your website and blog.

While reading the book, I completely consumed a stack of sticky notes marking items I wanted to come back to and reference in the future for my business. Unfortunately, like any book that includes web based information, some of the tools and tips referenced were a bit out of date. Additionally, the free Google advertising offered in the book didn't work on my account since I previously received a promotional credit from them.

Best and only way to detect high Insulin, believed to cause Diabetes, Heart attacks, chronic Kidney ds &many forms of cancer.

Groundbreaking work not covered in medical school very sadly. A prophetic work regarding how to test for Hyperinsulemia which may most often lead to pre-diabetes, which most often leads tragically to Diabetes type 2. Very useful work, gave me so much clarity on my Oral Glucose Tolerance Test. (OGTT). A strong scientific evidenced base argument for applying a very sensitive test which consumers can now buy online without a medical prescription a 3 hour version with 4 insulin assays and 4 glucose Assays from LifeExtension, and see if they have increased Insulin. A Fasting Blood sugar is like a 1 day balance sheet and 15300+ people who tested below the normal level failed the test for Insulin. Their pancrease is producing too much Insulin intermittently. This cannot be detected by a basal insulin and glucose and certainly not by an A1c test(three week income statement) value of >5.6 means you are prediabetic. My A1c and FBG are pristine(was prediabetic) but took an Oral Glucose Tolerance test and tested positive for hyperInsulimea. The Low carbohydrate High fat diet, got me to a FBG of 75 and A1c of 5.2. Doctor thought that I had pristine glucose measurements after 3 months of being prediabetic for several years. Now I can measure my Dietary progress and weight loss to see at what weight my Insulin is normal. This will in theory and scientifically according to many corpses examined stop and potentially reverse any further damage in my peripheral veins, decrease the possibility of a heart attack dramatically, help relieve my kidney and prevent Kimmelstiel-Wilson lesions. (which are formed when insulin increases.) High insulin has the same pathology as diabetes, without any warnings from the pathetically lagging FGB and the inadequate A1c test! Without Dr. Kraft's incredible work, I would not have continued to follow dietary lifestyle changes, lowering my carbohydrate daily levels to ,
15 grams a day to prevent insulin spikes and save my pancrease from wearing its self out and preventing Insulin resistance from reoccurring. I plan to take this test many more times to check that the lifestyle I have chosen is working, so that I do not die a premature painful death due to DM2 like so many other family members, including both grandfathers!

A light hidden under a basket

I stumbled across this book after 27 years of suffering from migraines which had by this point become debilitating. Pressured by the migraines, I eventually began to repeatedly harass my doctor, in order that we might together come up with a solution beyond a dependency on Imitrex/sumatriptan (a dependency wich began with pills and was now escalating to injections - the epipen thingy). Test after test came back normal but still I continued to suspect it was blood sugar related, mostly because I found that if I managed to eat regularly, which wasn't easy given my occupation at the time, the frequency of migraines would decrease, and if I quickly ate something protein rich like milk or chicken nuggets (if I was out), my symptoms (which I later identified as neuroglycopenia) would abate. I even went to a diabetes specialist and her tests came back normal and her recommendation was acupuncture or a shrink. Still I remained certain. And worse the migraines became. Back I went to the office and the doctor covering the office that day sends me for a glucose tolerance test. The results - ugly. Eventually, a year or so later, after nearly getting myself and potentially others as well killed after going the wrong way at a very (at that time) confusing intersection on the way to the hospital my doctor was convinced it was time to send me to see another specialist, this time, in the big city, at one of the teaching hospitals. Even then, that did not completely solve the problem, although he did help point me in the right direction (like some medical version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey). Ultimately, it was me, the waitress, googling 'symptoms of neuroglycopenia at normal blood sugar levels' who was able to accurately diagnose the issue (although the specialist alluded to it, telling me I had a problem with the glucostat (not on the internet) in my braiin, and my blood sugar levels were running hot, a.k.a. Relative Hypoglycemia. Only then, and once I began realizing that the sumatriptan wasn't doing me any favors as I found myself having greater than expected difficulty walking up flights of stairs did I finally really begin to buckle down and make the lasting changes advocated by author. This book is one that will leave you scratching your head and wondering what in the bleep is wrong with the medical establishment (a lot - for one, human beings aren't cylon models - what is 'normal' for one, isn't necessarily 'normal' for another). Anyone wanting to live longer than 56 needs to read this book. And I agree with other reviewers that it is unbelievable that this book isn't on the NYT best seller list. Apparently some other factor is at work because this book merits that and more. Why? Google 'relative hypoglycemia' and find out. Among the first items on the list is a research article from something like 1960, in which a medical doctor or psychiatrist discovers that relative hypoglycemia often presents as mental illness. I trust I don't have to tell you what that is like, spending 27 years of your life thinking you might be crazy and others thinking so as well, only to discover 27 years in that it is simply a matter of better controlling your blood sugar which I've learned to do and now I feel great! Like a whole different person, with less and less frequent migraines and less and less frequent use of medication to control them. In fact, now I hardly use the sumatriptan at all, although I continue to carry it with me, in case I fail to eat soon enough to maintain my blood sugar levels, or in case I fail to accurately take into account the effects of stress/strenuous exercise. What I learned from this experience is something I've known for quite some time. That is, you have to do your own research, and you, yourself are the patient's best advocate - if not you, who? And remember, as I said to one of my best friends just the other day, it wasn't long ago that doctors were still blood letting, and as she herself remarked (in jest), they've probably still got some leaches hidden in a drawer somewhere. A bit of an exaggeration perhaps, what with MRI's and all, but to some extent, true. For more on this subject see the book, Patient Heal Thyself, also available on Amazon.com.

A godsend for the tech-challenged

I bought this for my 80 year-young mom after she was given an iPad for her birthday. Since I have NO experience with Apple products I was no help to her. This book is easy to read and explains things in language even I can understand without talking down to the reader. Just because the user is a senior doesn't mean they should be addressed like children. Thank you for a guide that respects seniors and encourages them to learn new technology!

The best instructive book I've ever read.

Excellent! Even though I've been using an iPad for about six years, I learned a lot, and I enjoyed learning it. I found it particularly handy to have my new iPad Pro (the reason I got the book) beside me while reading. This book should be in everyone's library, whether they are experienced, or not.

Disappointed in the Import Photos Section

I come from a Win PC background, and was disappointed that the 1st thing I tried to figure out; how to transfer pictures from my Window Computer to the IPAD, they didn't even mention. They tell how to import from a digital camera and an SD card, but nothing about a computer. So far, the rest of the book has been helpful as this is my first IPAD,

do yourself a favor and read this and other David McGowan books

one fantastic American/world history book full of fascinating information you are not going to find else ware. unless you read 20 other books to gather this info, but it wont be presented as only David McGowan can do it. Perhaps the best researcher going David McGowan recently died of some odd fast acting cancer. His death was no doubt a blessing to those in government who hated him and his future book on Boston... That future book and all the things on his web site seemed to die with him. But as if proof of divine justice his death sparked an interest in his already popular newest book (on Laurel canyon music oddities) as well his older books, including this one. Many of his on line interviews and presentations have also resurfaced. .

Most of David McGowan books started out as posts on his web site... all his books are worth reading.

Hysterical extrapolation

I am profoundly sympathetic to the main thesis of this book -- that the present American economic and political situation is marching towards a fascist system. However, this alleged 'writer' relies too much upon mere juxtaposition and unsubstantiated conjecture to label anyone and everyone whoever enjoyed power in the U.S. to be a "fascist." The book has much in the way of interesting information, but the conclusions come across as the colloquial ramblings of an undisciplined conspiracy theorist.

Another great story in the Texas Rebels series. The thread of strength and responsibility continues to weave through the Texas Rebels saga. Each son with his own story touches your heart yet keeps you breathless as the story unwinds and slowly you are feeling the same conflicts within each of these sons. The books are hard to put down until you know how the these conflicts are resolved and how each Rebel's heart is fulfilled with its true love.

This was a good book in the series, I enjoyed it and will be buying the next one in the series, it's good that she is keeping the other characters from the past books and including all of them. I will be waiting for the next one in August.

Linda Warren hooked me on her Texas Rebel series with Jude. Jude is a character you will fall for from the very first paragraph. I recommend it for a summer read or any other time for that matter. Be warned - you will be hooked.
